About

Twice Exceptional is a clothing brand deeply rooted in the personal journeys of its founders, Alex Bean and Josh Aronow. Both were diagnosed with learning differences at a young age—Alex with Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, and ADD, and Josh with ADHD and a Language Processing Delay. These early challenges became the catalyst for a brand committed to transforming how society views learning differences, emphasizing that these very differences are what set individuals apart in extraordinary ways.

Twice Exceptional’s mission is to raise awareness, provide valuable educational resources, and celebrate the unique strengths that come from navigating learning differences.

What does Twice Exceptional Mean?

Twice Exceptional, or “2e,” describes individuals who are both intellectually gifted and have a learning difference. For instance, someone with ADHD, dyslexia, or another learning challenge may also excel in areas like music, art, mathematics, or creative problem-solving. This unique combination of challenges and strengths is what defines being twice exceptional—where extraordinary potential emerges from the intersection of diverse abilities.

The Twice Exceptional logo symbolizes the brand’s mission and identity. Representing the abbreviation "2e," the logo features one "e" flipped backward to symbolize dyslexia, with the two "e's" coming together to form a smiley face—reflecting the positivity and empowerment that the brand stands for.
